The Small size International Association was founded in 2007 in the framework of the project “Small size, the net”, financed by the Culture Programme of the European Commission for the first three years (2006-2009). The primary objective and activity of the Association is the diffusion of performing arts for early years (0-6 years) and, more generally, the promotion of culture for this age group.

Over the first two years, the Association has been an essential instrument to widen the network and to allow 12 partners to continue their work with a new project: “Small size, big citizens - Widening of the European Network for the diffusion of the Performing Arts for Early Years”. One of its aims is to support the Association. “Small size, big citizens” will be supported and financed by the Culture Programme of the European Commission over the five-year period 2009-2014.

Today, we are starting a new journey that will last five years. Five years to plan, programme and build a road for the Association to let it walk on its own, even beyond the project.

To this end, we have decided to organise an open Promotional Meeting, to “go beyond” and listen to the proposals, needs and visions of those who, just like us, belong to the universe where arts and early years can meet. Those willing to join us, along with those who wish to collect information on the Association and its activities, will be welcome.

The Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Teatro Testoni Ragazzi in Bologna, on the occasion of the International Festival of Theatre and Culture for early years “Visions of Future, Visions of Theatre...”.

During the Meeting, the Association’s programme for the year 2011 will be discussed, as well as the initiatives open to the Associates. Applications to join the Association will also be accepted.

At the end of the meeting the first call to take part in the “Small seeding fund - A support to the new productions for children 0-4 years” promoted by the European project “Small size big citizens - Widening of the European Network for the diffusion of the Performing Arts for Early Years” will be presented.

The Meeting will be held in English.
