Ljubljana Puppet Theatre is the main Slovene theatre for puppet production for children and youth.

Ljubljana Puppet Theatre is the main Slovene theatre for puppet production and theatre production for children and youth. It runs six venues with 1000 seats, produces up to 15 premieres per season, hosts more than 700 performances and has almost 110.000 visitors per year and organizes two biannual festivals: International Festival of Contemporary Puppetry Art Lutke and a national platform for cultural fields focusing on youth Zlata paličica (Golden Stick). The theatre cooperates with NGOs and Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and TV on non-formal education projects, workshops and study processes. Apart from widespread international touring, LGL is also part of Unima, Assitej and NEECPA networks. LGL is strongly aiming towards quality international co-productions and frim networks of diverse puppet and cultural education experts.

As of May 2015 Ljubljana Puppet Theatre also runs, in collaboration with Ljubljana Castle, The Museum of Puppetry, the Permanent Exhibition entitled Images of Slovenian Puppetry Art, 1910-1990 and a small theatre performing historical puppet shows.
